The DC process with positive electrode polarity combines the quality of conventional TIG welding with the productivity of MIG welding. Butt joints can be welded in I-joint up to 8 mm in a single layer.

Together with ALOtec Dresden GmbH, OSCAR has developed a flexible and mobile solution for laser deposition welding. The system consists of the ProFocus laser system from OSCAR and the ALOhybrid robot platform from ALOtec. This allows the welding system to be positioned and aligned nearly anywhere, especially for processing large and difficult-to-transport components.

In cooperation with Siemens (Gas & Power) AG, we were able to demonstrate to the Fraunhofer IPK and Scansonic MI GmbH that an “on-site” repair of stationary gas turbine housing parts is possible. For this purpose, the system technology of our LMD laser ProFocus was further developed and optimized. Time-consuming transports as well as previously necessary heat treatments after repair welding could thus be axed!

OSCAR PLT GmbH has been a member of Building 3D e.V. since December 2020. We look forward to a creative cooperation in this network. We will contribute our know-how to further advance and expand the additive manufacturing technologies.

Passion for perfection – laser engraving for reproducible fine adjustment of the wire feed at Oscar PLT for mounting the aluminum PlusPol TIG welding process Arcline® PP and the high-performance TIG process InFocus from Kjellberg Finsterwalde.

On 12.11.2019, the Schweißtechnische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt Halle (the Welding Training and Research Institute Halle) will hold the Additive Manufacturing symposium. OSCAR PLT GmbH together with ALOtec Dresden GmbH will give a presentation on the topic: “Laser wire deposition welding- applications, materials, process control”. In addition, there will be the possibility to view the ProFocus Laser wire deposition welding system on site at SLV Halle during the symposium. In addition, on the evening before the event, there will be a welding demonstration.

The 14th International Trade Fair for Metal Sheet Processing Blechexpo 2019 will be held in Stuttgart from 05.11.2019 to 08.11.2019.
At the booth, OSCAR PLT GmbH will present its product ProFocus which is used for laser deposition welding. OSCAR will also present its business division which deals with the individualized drag gas nozzles.

WerkstoffWoche 2019 (Material Week 2019) took place at MESSE DRESDEN (Dresden Trade Fair) from 18th to 20th September 2019. The companies and institutes presented their materials, products and processes at the accompanying trade fair.
OSCAR PLT GmbH represented itself with a specialist lecture and a booth to present the flexible and innovative laser deposition welding system ProFocus. The positive feedback from the discussions with the congress participants confirms that OSCAR PLT GmbH has taken the right development path, and therefore will carry on the same path.

In one of the first customer projects in the area of repair welding, ProFocus is demonstrating its productivity and process reliability. Laser deposition welding for 3D generation has now been successfully applied for the company Botec GmbH to refurbish the function surfaces of impellers and guide vanes of power plant pumps. The application was carried out in a hot-wire process. The laser deposition welding process enables flawless and near-net-shape applications as well as minimal distortion.

In cooperation with the Linde Group and Kjellberg Finsterwalde Schweisstechnik und Wearschutzsysteme GmbH, OSCAR PLT developed a new type of positive pole torch specifically for joining aluminum. The Arcline PP technology enables outstanding quality and productivity in automated aluminium welding. Linde presented the torch at the Kjellberg Finsterwalde booth at the Euroblech 2018 metalworking trade fair and received several inquiries.
