WIG/TIG 3D welding system for economical metal build-up.
With InFocus 3D, you take cladding to a new level: fast, reproducible and economical. The WIG/TIG 3D welding system from OSCAR PLT is ideal for large-volume components, wear protection coatings and large-scale repair applications – wherever high deposition rates and stable welding results are essential.
Unlike laser-based ProFocus systems, InFocus 3D uses a robust WIG/TIG process with automated feeding of three wires. In this arc welding process, an electric arc burns between a non-consumable tungsten electrode and the workpiece, while an inert shielding gas protects the weld pool from oxygen. For you, this means high productivity, proven welding technology and clear process control – robust and intuitive.
In short: You get an efficient and proven solution for coating, repair and cladding that is easy to integrate, intuitive to operate and reliably meets your requirements.

| • | Proven technology instead of unnecessary complexity: stable WIG/TIG process, industrially established and easy to control |
| • | Wire-based process without powder handling: for simple and practical material feeding |
| • | OSCAR software and control expertise: intuitive and robust process control, individual wire and hot wire control as well as height control |
Technology & system design
With InFocus 3D, you can implement highly efficient cladding using a powerful WIG/TIG process based on a Kjellberg InFocus torch. InFocus 3D is your solution when up to three wires need to be fed and melted in parallel to realize coatings, repairs or additive manufacturing with high deposition rates. The optional hot wire feed further increases the melting rate and makes material deposition even more efficient.
Technological benefits
| • | Proven WIG/TIG technology: excellent arc stability with well-controlled welding quality |
| • | Wire feeding with up to three individually controllable wires: high melting rates of up to 12 kg/h, productive material deposition and alloy formation possible |

Modular system design
InFocus 3D is modular in design and engineered for application-specific integration into existing production environments. The system can be combined with different motion systems and is suitable both for new system concepts and for expanding existing systems. It offers maximum adaptability to customer requirements:
| • | Process head with Kjellberg InFocus additive torch and wire feed units |
| • | Main current and hot wire power sources |
| • | Control cabinet with bus or hardwiring control |
| • | Integrated Cavitar welding camera |
| • | Integrable laser line scanner for a digital repair process chain |
| • | Individually selectable control and regulation options for the process and component properties |
Process know-how & control
To ensure that high material deposition does not come at the expense of quality, InFocus 3D supports the welding process with integrated sensors, assistance functions and automatic height control. Camera-based process monitoring also makes the build-up process more transparent and easier to control during production.
| • | Constant torch-to-component distance through automatic height control |
| • | Automatic process start and stop, synchronized with the robot or guiding machine |
| • | Camera-based process monitoring – integrated into the system PC |
| • | Intuitive user interfaces for our assistance functions |
| • | Stable quality: even with long welding paths and high deposition volumes |
Applications: repair, coating and additive manufacturing with high deposition volumes
InFocus 3D is particularly suitable for applications where high material deposition or in-process alloy formation is required. It enables companies to automatically repair worn components with large defects, apply large-area functional coatings and additively build up component areas – highly economically and with controlled heat input.
Typical fields of application
| • | Repair of large-volume metal components, such as crusher rollers |
| • | Coating of components, such as sliding shoes |
| • | Reproduction of metal components that are no longer available based on scans or drawings |
| • | Testing of coating processes with novel material combinations through in-situ alloy formation |
