Compact metal 3D printing system for greater flexibility in your production.
With ProFocus Compact, you bring repair welding, coating and metal 3D printing exactly where you need them: into your existing CNC machine, into a robotic system or into a mobile unit.
The particularly lightweight and compact laser head opens up new possibilities for hard-to-reach components, tight installation spaces and production tasks that require flexibility. This allows you to repair components, apply wear protection coatings or create new geometries — without long waiting times, major modifications or unnecessary complexity.
Your benefit: ProFocus Compact brings the proven ProFocus technology into a particularly slim design. This makes the entry into modern laser processing easier, more flexible and easier to plan — even where space, weight or existing systems have previously set limits.
The benefits at a glance
| • | Repair components instead of replacing them at high cost |
| • | Expanded possibilities in tight installation spaces and hard-to-reach component areas |
| • | Make better use of existing production systems |
| • | Introduce modern laser processing into existing systems |
| • | Flexible use for repair, coating and additive material build-up |
| • | Personal support from the first idea through to application |
Existing challenges
Many companies face similar questions when it comes to repair, coating and additive manufacturing:
| • | How can components be repaired faster instead of being newly sourced? |
| • | How can existing machines be used more efficiently? |
| • | How can hard-to-reach areas be processed safely? |
| • | How can metal 3D printing be introduced economically without investing directly in a large complete system? |
| • | Can laser cladding also be implemented with a cobot? |
| • | How can downtime, spare parts costs and long lead times be reduced? |
This is exactly where ProFocus Compact comes in.
The solution: high performance in a compact space with ProFocus Compact
ProFocus Compact makes modern laser processing usable where large or heavy systems are often too complex or cannot be used. Its slim design and low weight lower the barrier to entry and make it easier to bring new applications into your own production step by step.
Instead of requiring a lot of space or extensive modifications, ProFocus Compact offers a solution that is easy to plan, simple to integrate and intuitive to operate.
The result: You expand your capabilities with manageable effort — while keeping your production flexible.
What you can use ProFocus Compact for
| • |
Component repair Damaged or worn areas can be rebuilt precisely, even in hard-to-reach positions. This allows valuable components to be used for longer instead of having to be replaced prematurely. Your benefit: lower spare parts costs, shorter downtime and greater independence from delivery times. |
| • |
Wear protection Heavily stressed surfaces can be selectively reinforced or protected. This is particularly helpful for components that are regularly exposed to friction, pressure or high loads. Your benefit: longer service life and fewer unplanned failures. |
| • |
Additive manufacturing New contours, functional surfaces or component areas can be built up layer by layer — especially where conventional manufacturing would be complex or uneconomical. Your benefit: greater design freedom and economical solutions for specific component requirements. |
| • |
Flexible production within existing systems ProFocus Compact is suitable for companies that want to expand their existing production in a targeted way without directly planning a large complete system. Your benefit: You create new possibilities in your production while staying flexible, predictable and close to your existing processes. |
Technology & system design
ProFocus Compact is designed for precise laser cladding, repair welding and metal additive manufacturing. During the process, the filler material is introduced precisely into the laser interaction zone and bonded with the base material. This creates controlled material deposits that can be used for repairs, coatings and the layer-by-layer build-up of new geometries.
Coaxial material feed is an important technical advantage: the filler material reaches the processing point independently of the movement direction. This allows complex contours, changing processing directions and hard-to-reach areas to be processed reliably.
Your benefit: The process remains manageable even with demanding component geometries — with uniform deposits, high repeatability and greater freedom in path planning.
Hardware
The hardware of ProFocus Compact is designed for stable laser processes while ensuring good accessibility. Laser head, material feed, process observation as well as optional sensors and control functions interact as one integrated system.
What matters is not only that material is applied, but how controlled this application is. Precise guidance of the laser beam and filler material supports uniform layer formation, reproducible results and safe processing even with changing component shapes.
Typical components and additions include:
| • | Compact ProFocus laser head for good accessibility, even in tight component areas |
| • | Wire or powder feed for flexible adaptation to material, component and application |
| • | Process observation for visual control of the processing operation |
| • | Monitoring and control functions to support stable process conditions |
| • | Coordinated system technology for integration into existing production processes |
Your benefit: You receive not just a single tool, but a coordinated process system that combines industrial requirements with simple handling.
Process know-how & control
For reliable results, laser power, feed rate, material feed, component geometry and material behavior must work together. This is where OSCAR PLT contributes the necessary process expertise: from the first assessment of the application through to stable implementation in production.
Depending on the task, process strategy, filler material and parameters are coordinated so that the material deposit matches the desired function — for example for wear-resistant surfaces, rebuilding damaged areas or the additive build-up of new contours.
Depending on the task, OSCAR PLT supports you with:
| • | Selecting the right process for repair, coating or layer-by-layer material build-up |
| • | Coordinating component, base material, filler material and processing strategy |
| • | Determining suitable process parameters for stable and repeatable workflows |
| • | Commissioning and training for a safe start within your own team |
| • | Support after project launch for optimization, in-depth questions and further applications |
Your benefit: You benefit not only from the system technology, but also from application-oriented process expertise — for results that are technically reliable and economically viable.
Service & integration: from the first idea to application
OSCAR PLT supports you in integrating ProFocus Compact into your production in a meaningful way:
| • | Feasibility studies |
| • | Individual system design and integration |
| • | Assembly and commissioning |
| • | Training for your employees |
| • | Process support and service |
