Formnext 2026: OSCAR PLT presents InFocus 3D and mobile ProFocus repair in Frankfurt
How can additive manufacturing, repair and digital path planning be combined into one continuous process chain? That is exactly what we will be demonstrating at Formnext in Frankfurt am Main from 17 to 20 November 2026.
Together with S.K.M. Informatik and supported by KUKA as our system partner, we will be presenting solutions for industrial additive manufacturing, repair and coating in Hall 11.0, Booth B62 – from digital component capture to the welding process.
InFocus 3D: high deposition rates with three wires
One of the highlights at our booth is our new InFocus 3D. The WIG/TIG-based 3D welding system features automated feeding of up to three wires and also offers an optional hot-wire function.
This makes InFocus 3D particularly suitable for large-volume components, wear-resistant coatings and repair applications where high deposition rates are required.
Unlike our laser-based ProFocus systems, InFocus 3D uses a robust WIG/TIG process. The result: high material deposition, stable process control and practical wire-based material feeding.
ProFocus goes mobile: repair directly on the component
Our mobile ProFocus solution will also be on display at Formnext.
It enables repairs to be carried out directly where the component is installed – for example on large cast components or marine engines, where dismantling and transport would otherwise involve considerable effort.
The compact system design brings Laser Metal Deposition with Wire directly to the application and can significantly reduce dismantling, transport and downtime.
From scan data to the finished welding path
Together with S.K.M. Informatik, we will also demonstrate how the SKM DCAM path-planning tool transforms scan data, CAD geometries and complex kinematics into automated welding and robot paths.
Combined with OSCAR PLT’s laser and arc-based systems and KUKA’s automation expertise, this creates a continuous process chain for metal 3D printing, additive repair and functional coatings – from component capture to the finished component.
